In this paper a survival model is used to perform an analysis of the waiting time to publication for academic articles. The model is a multilevel excess hazard model and it allows to include non-linear and non-proportional effects of the covariates. The analysis is performed by considering covariates at two levels: the first one is the article level, the second one is the journal level.

Abstract
