Coastal dunes are extremely complex natural systems characterized by strong dynamism and notable selective pressures which profoundly influence their fauna. In fact, they are environments characterized by a not very high species richness. In them, however, some more opportunistic elements of the coastal fauna are accompanied by animal species extremely adapted to the different microhabitats present in the short space between the coastline and the back of the dune. The eco-ethological peculiarities of some of the species present in these environments in Italy will then be illustrated, with particular attention to the environmental factors essential to their conservation.

Abstract
Coastal dunes are extremely complex natural systems characterized by strong dynamism and notable selective pressures which profoundly influence their fauna. In fact, they are environments characterized by a not very high species richness. In them, however, some more opportunistic elements of the coastal fauna are accompanied by animal species extremely adapted to the different microhabitats present in the short space between the coastline and the back of the dune. The eco-ethological peculiarities of some of the species present in these environments in Italy will then be illustrated, with particular attention to the environmental factors essential to their conservation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
