As part of the Femmes Libres Project, funded in the first notice of the Interreg Marittimo It-Fr Maritime 2021-27 Program, a call has been launched for the submission of essays to be included in a book that aims to assess the current state of the housing solutions for cohousing and coworking for women who are victims of violence, as well as for other vulnerable groups. Femmes Libres seeks to promote access to employment and the creation of economically sustainable activities for women survivors of gender-based violence through the development and pilot testing of a home-work action plan that integrates infrastructure components (starting from cohousing) with a series of preparatory and specialized services designed to facilitate job search, ultimately leading to economic independence. The integration of housing and employment is crucial, as providing safe and economically sustainable housing conditions allows women to rebuild social networks, manage/co-manage parental responsibilities, and engage in a meaningful path toward employment inclusion. The papers received in response to the call have exceeded all expectations in terms of the topics addressed, the experiences shared, and the high caliber of the authors involved in this book project, to whom we express sincere gratitude.
