The present study proposes the development of an expedient methodology for assessing the state of preservation and estimating intervention costs in pitched roofs with wooden or reinforced concrete structures and slate coverings, typical of Genoa's historical heritage. Developed in accordance with the 2016 post-earthquake Italian regulatory framework, the method is based on a tiered classification system for analyzing deterioration phenomena and planning restoration and maintenance operations. Specifically, the model allows for the identification of degradation phenomena and their association with specific interventions, ranging from routine maintenance to more invasive structural measures, based on the level of damage sustained by the roofing system and its vulnerability. The proposed method, currently undergoing validation, aims to represent a step forward in the management and conservation of historical heritage by developing a deployable model capable of facilitating the comparison of intervention estimates across different buildings. The goal is to support the multi-year planning of managing bodies responsible for large architectural heritage collections, ensuring greater efficiency in the planning of maintenance and restoration activities.
