Modern luxury cruise ships are increasingly expected to balance high-end comfort, operational efficiency and environmental responsibility while complying with even more stringent regulations. The design-driven research focuses on vessels ranging from 100 to 150 meters in length, intended for a maximum of 100 pas- sengers, with a crew-to-passenger ratio approaching 1:1. As a result, interior layouts have been strategically reconfigured to maximise both guest experience and crew operations. The shift toward eco-friendly propulsion—including LNG engines, hybrid-electric systems, fuel cells, and hydrogen-based solutions—reduces greenhouse gas emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. At the same time, closed-loop waste management helps minimize the ship’s ecological footprint through advanced wastewater treatment, onboard recycling, and circular resource utilization. This research explores how the integration of optimized spatial configurations, advanced material selection, eco-friendly propulsion, and circular waste management can drive innovation in luxury cruise ship design. The proposed strategies aim to improve efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with evolving regulations, contributing to the development of more responsible and high-performing vessels.

Abstract
The proposed strategies aim to improve efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with evolving regulations, contributing to the development of more responsible and high-performing vessels.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
