Special attention must be paid to endemic plant species, which today are increasingly at risk due to anthropogenic impact and climate change. As study species we chose Gentiana ligustica R. Wilm & Chopinet and Campanula sabatia De Not., two endemic species of SW Alps that occurr between the Alpine and Mediterranean biogeographical regions and are listed in the annex II and IV of the Habitat Directive.
