AGV application safety issues research

The paper considers the technology of automated guided vehicles, their structure and the device of auxiliary systems which allow them to be guided in space are in detail described. The study discusses both the key aspects of the real application of such vehicles and their classification by type, including the division into three basic levels. The main advantages that increase the efficiency of remote control and disadvantages that can potentially negatively affect the operation of an automated guided vehicle are identified. All types of sensors with which automated guided vehicles can be equipped, allowing to exclude emergencies, have been highlighted. Attention is paid not only to the safety issues of transported cargo and personnel but also to the technical processes that ensure the working capacity of the transport. The various industrial sectors where the automated guided vehicles are used have been singled out. The operation of automated guided vehicles, moving along a preprogrammed path is analyzed. It is shown how the application of automated guided vehicles affects the complexity and severity of personnel work. It was revealed how the remote control of the product shipment process, the ability to track the transported goods in real-time affect labor costs.
