Abstract

In the last decades, the cooling of electronic boards by natural convection has been deeply investigated. Few papers are focused on the cooling of the boards placed in a vented cavity. Even though forced convection is more effective than natural convection, the latter guarantees the maximum reliability of the thermal system. In this paper, a numerical analysis of the cooling of multi-column racks was carried out. All the simulations were performed using the Flotherm 11.2 software. In particular, the model considers two multi-column racks formed by a hot channel between the sides where the hot outlet vents are located.
