Abstract Diaphyseal humeral fractures in children are relatively uncommon, accounting for only a small percentage of pediatric fractures. Approximately 20% of humeral fractures in children are humeral shaft fractures. The estimated incidence is between 12 and 30 fractures per 100,000 children per year. Such injuries exhibit a bimodal distribution. Most occur in children younger than 3 or older than 12 years of age.
