Abstract Fractures of the medial humeral epicondyle are a common injury in children and often require surgery. These fractures account for 11%–20% of all humerus fractures. Most occur between the ages of 11 and 12, and they are 4 times more prevalent in boys than in girls. Between 30% and 60% of medial epicondyle fractures are associated with elbow dislocation, so a medial epicondyle fracture must be ruled out in all children with a history of elbow dislocation. These fractures differ from the rarer medial condyle fractures that extend into the elbow joint.

Abstract
Abstract Fractures of the medial humeral epicondyle are a common injury in children and often require surgery. These fractures account for 11%–20% of all humerus fractures. Most occur between the ages of 11 and 12, and they are 4 times more prevalent in boys than in girls. Between 30% and 60% of medial epicondyle fractures are associated with elbow dislocation, so a medial epicondyle fracture must be ruled out in all children with a history of elbow dislocation. These fractures differ from the rarer medial condyle fractures that extend into the elbow joint.File in questo prodotto:
