Drawing on the examined Proclean texts, this study highlights the primacy of the “flower of the soul” over the “flower of the intellect” as the highest element within the human being. As an image and trace of the One, the "flower of the soul" grounds our innate kinship with the divine and enables henosis, the mystical union with the First Principle. Since the One transcends intellect and all forms of thought, this union cannot be intellectual but must take the form of a supra-rational mystical experience. Through divine inspiration (enthousiasmos) and participation in divine light, the soul attains its fullest assimilation to the gods and to the ultimate source of all divinity.

Abstract
Drawing on the examined Proclean texts, this study highlights the primacy of the “flower of the soul” over the “flower of the intellect” as the highest element within the human being. As an image and trace of the One, the "flower of the soul" grounds our innate kinship with the divine and enables henosis, the mystical union with the First Principle. Since the One transcends intellect and all forms of thought, this union cannot be intellectual but must take the form of a supra-rational mystical experience. Through divine inspiration (enthousiasmos) and participation in divine light, the soul attains its fullest assimilation to the gods and to the ultimate source of all divinity.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
