Landscape photography has always been an accessory tool used in geographic research and didactics. This article aims to give it a central role, exploiting the more immediate reaction it arouses in the reader with respect to tools such as cartography or statistical data. Comparing photographs from different years, following the re-photography technique, it is possible to observe the socio-economic and landscape transformations that have taken place in a territory.
La fotografia di paesaggio è da sempre uno strumento accessorio utilizzato nella ricerca e didattica geografica. In questo articolo si propone di conferirle un ruolo centrale, sfruttando la reazione più immediata che suscita nel lettore rispetto a strumenti come la cartografia o i dati statistici. Confrontando fotografie di diverse epoche, seguendo la tecnica della ri-fotografia, si possono infatti osservare le trasformazioni socioeconomiche e paesaggistiche, avvenute in un territorio.
