Carità, parrocchia e politica. Luoghi e beni degli ospedali vercellesi in epoca moderna (1555-1828)

This essay wants to examine the local and political vicissitudes of Cascine di Strada, a small settlement located a few kilometers outside the city of Vercelli, through the close relationship of its inhabitants with the Ospedale Maggiore di S. Andrea of Vercelli starting from the early modern period. The sources preserved in the local parish archive, merged in the archive of the hospital, shed light on the negotiation of local political spaces through unusual categories such as devotion, the creation of parishes and ritual charity.
