In recent years lexicographers have devoted increasing attention to actual language usage, spoken language and specialized discourse, also turning to the inclusion and representation of phraseological units. The treatment of phraseology in bilingual Spanish-Italian and Italian-Spanish dictionaries, however, is still uneven. Particularly, phraseological units are not described with the necessary precision, and labels adopted for informal registers are not consistent across lexicographic products. The reason for this lies in the general lack of consensus among theorists around the meaning of usage labels such as familiaror vulgar. While familiarwould come close to standard language, vulgar would take the lower position on the informality scale. In this context, it is our purpose to explore the uses of the label familiarin relation to phraseological units. Using data from Spanish-Italian and Italian-Spanish dictionaries, we shall integrate quantitative and qualitative data analysis so as to relate frequency of use of this specific label with type of unit tagged.

Abstract
Using data from Spanish-Italian and Italian-Spanish dictionaries, we shall integrate quantitative and qualitative data analysis so as to relate frequency of use of this specific label with type of unit tagged.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
