The paper presents the outcomes of the University of Genoa’s recent archaeological investigation campaigns in the C2 area (Western Quarter). Within this area, ongoing excavations are uncovering the remnants of a structured residential complex built upon pre-existing foundations from the imperial era. The currently revealed phase dates back to the IV and the early V century AD. Adjacent to the residential structures, and potentially interconnected with them, is an elongated room of relatively substantial dimensions, with one of its short sides terminating in an apse. The positioning of this room, along with specific details of its interior arrangement, suggests its probable use as a banqueting hall. Its presence not only accentuates the significance of the structure but also plays a crucial role in characterizing this specific part of the city during the Late Antique period.

Abstract
Its presence not only accentuates the significance of the structure but also plays a crucial role in characterizing this specific part of the city during the Late Antique period.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
