The article justifies that the notion of exception does not allow us to understand or identify an element of the antecedent of the norms or a type of norm. I will argue that the best way to understand how legal theorists use the notion of exception is as a concept that refers to propositions that describe the result of a set of operations of either undermining a norm (determining it to be irrelevant), or overruling a norm (they determine that their noncompliance is justified).
