Pastoral accompaniment of couples and families, especially that carried out by the lawyer in cases of matrimonial nullity, must not offer an easy legal justification for the failure of marriages, but help the parties to reflect on the journey they have taken and to acquire greater “anthropological awareness”. The process of matrimonial nullity requires specific skills and attitudes, because the accompaniment must take place at all stages, so that those involved fully understand its meaning. Reflection on marriage as a relational and affective good and the search for the truth objectively contained in it, especially in a digitized age such as the one we are living in, are central concerns in a process that is not only an educational space of personal responsibility and recovery in the ecclesial community, but also a place of dialogue and evangelization.
