Sometimes for utility, but in most cases for convenience, in educational services the coordinator of the structure (nursery, educational community, youth center, etc.) carries out part of his work with the educators of “his” team. This situation has benefits (supervision and knowledge of the service) but there are also many and inevitable difficulties and inconsistencies. The presence of the coordinator - who must also evaluate, make decisions, manage the life of the work group (from the holiday plan to mediation with the users) - together with the educators can be complicated. The data of a recent research carried out in Liguria, which involved 49 coordinators of educational services, help to clarify the non-functional aspects and the performance aspects that regulate the life of educational services. The topic is also current for the approval of the Register of educators and pedagogists (L. 55/2024) which, in some way, could also redesign the framework of services for staff and skills.
