Within the scientific and cultural debate on the fragility of the secondary school student population, in recent years, attention has grown towards foreign students welcomed into residen- tial educational communities. The condition of being “outside the family” and scholastic diffi- culties hinder the path towards educational success and contribute to defining a system that must be continually renegotiated. Beyond possible prejudices and stereotypes, in fact the percentage of foreigners (in particular, MNAs) and minors aged 14-18 has increased, in communities and in classes, requiring teachers to strengthen their intercultural, pedagogical but above all didactic skills. Recent research in the Genoa area has highlighted the difficulties of teachers in managing the class, the school/home time ratio and the different learning styles. In the contribution they will present the research data, highlighting those with greater training potential.
