The present study aims to examine potential discrepancies in mother-adolescent measurements regarding emotional-behavioral problems in adolescents and the relative influence of gender and age on them. Therefore, a community sample of 87 Italian adolescents aged 10 to 19 years (Mage = 15.8, SD = 2.2; 48.3% males) and their respective mothers (Mage = 48.3, SD = 4.6) was involved, and they were administered the self- and parent-reported YSR and CBCL questionnaires. The sample was further divided into two groups based on age. Results suggest substantial agreement between informants and systematically higher self-reported scores, while not entirely univocal effects of gender and age emerged.
