The aim of this paper is to find guidelines for the redesign of an urban infrastructure into a green infrastructure. Through the formulation of a best cases' abacus of urban regeneration and sustainable infrastructure, it is possible to extract a set of shared parameters of architectural, urban and mobility planning, to know how to design an GI within a limited urban space. The case study of Genoa's Sopraelevata represents an opportunity to focus attention on life cycle assessment of infrastructural heritage.
