This paper, taking as its point of departure the volume by Anca Vasiliu mentioned in the title, examines several key topics that call for detailed analysis and further reflection. Accordingly, the discussion will focus on examining, in the following order, the central themes that are also fundamental in Anca Vasiliu’s book: 1) Plato’s exploration of the nature of the image in the Sophist. 2) The question of the structural relationship—central to the dialogue—between logos, being, and philosophy. 3) The reception of the Sophist in late Neoplatonism, with particular attention to Proclus.
