Abstract

Pets have largely been investigated in animal geography studies, especially in Anglophone studies. However, climate change studies have underestimated their role. This contribution aims to understand how pets impact climate change. The topic is discussed starting with a literature review, and in addition, considering data regarding the Italian context, to define how habits and culture, also in Italy, have changed in recent years in relation to pets and what complexities are emerging as a consequence of the climate crisis.
